How We Can Help
|
Doctors: Helping Yourself by Helping OthersDoctors can obtain their green cards by agreeing to work for at least 5 years in a federally designated "shortage" area. A permanent job is not required. Technically, this process is called a "national interest waiver," but it is different from the other "national interest waiver" provision discussed elsewhere. In fact, the history of doctors and the national interest waiver provisions (old and new) is an interesting one. Doctors are not limited to only national interest waiver applications. They can also obtain their green card through a labor certification. This requires your employer to undertake a recruitment to show that there are no qualified U.S. workers available for the position. If you would like assistance in applying for permanent residency,
please contact Peng & Weber. |
